About The Lake

With 385 acres of water nestled in the middle of 600 acres of undisturbed land, the Holden City Lake offers some of the best crappie, bluegill, bass and catfish fishing in Missouri.  Along with fishing, people from all around enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and picnicking.  There is a boat ramp at the north end of the lake and restrooms at the north and east end of the lake for your convenience.

Every visitor must observe the rules posted on the signs.  There is NO PARKING on any grassy area; we ask all horse trailers to park at the south entrance as there is a spot that is higher and less subject to getting stuck in the mud.  

While no rifle or pistol use is allowed, located around the shores are 7 fowl hunting blind sites.  A drawing is held for the blinds with the drawing date announced prior to the season.

If you'd like to fish at the City Lake, both a Lake Permit and a fishing license are required.

A "resident" is defined as anyone living in the 64040 or 64061 zip codes.  Identification will be required to prove residency.
